Pharmalogical effect
Upsarin - medicine group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The preparation contains an active ingredient - acetylsalicylic acid. The drug has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and antiplatelet effect. The mechanism of action of aspirin is associated with its ability to inhibit the activity of both isoforms of cyclooxygenase, thereby slowing down the metabolism of arachidonic acid and decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, prostacyclins and thromboxane A2. Analgesic effect of the drug at the expense of reducing prostaglandins in the center of thermoregulation, thereby reducing its excitability. Conducting and drug reduces pain impulse generation and also reduces the intensity of the inflammatory process.
Upsarin Upsa with vitamin C - a complex preparation containing acetylsalicylic acid in addition to ascorbic acid. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in redox reactions, regulates carbohydrate metabolism, synthesis of different substances, and blood clotting. In addition, vitamin C increases the regenerative capacity of tissue, and has a strong antioxidant effect.
After dissolution of the effervescent tablet is formed a buffer mixture which reduces the toxic effect of acetylsalicylic acid on the mucous membranes of stomach and duodenum, and also enhances the absorption of the active ingredient.
After oral administration of acetylsalicylic acid is well absorbed in the gastro-intestinal tract. Peak plasma concentration of acetylsalicylic acid observed after 15-40 minutes after oral administration, the bioavailability of dose-dependent and ranges from 60% to 90%. Acetylsalicylic acid is hydrolyzed in the body to form a pharmacologically active salicylic acid, besides the metabolism of acetylsalicylic acid, a number of pharmacologically active metabolites. The active ingredient of the drug and its metabolites cross the blood-placenta and blood-brain barrier and is excreted in breast milk. The half-life of acetylsalicylic acid is 15-20 minutes, salicylic acid - 2-4 hours, ascorbic acid, - from 12.8 to 29.5 days.
Acetylsalicylic acid mainly derived kidneys in unchanged form or in the form of metabolites.
