Benzalkonium chloride (Pharmatex) does a damaging effect on the sperm membrane (spermicidal effect), what leads to their destruction and the inability of fertilization. On average, one dose of the drug is designed to neutralize the sperm contained in a single ejaculate. Therefore, the repeated sexual act requires the introduction of the new dose.
In addition to the spermicidal effects Pharmatex in laboratory testing has shown antimicrobial activity against the pathogen of gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, herpes type II, as well as against Staphylococcus aureus. The drug is inactive against mycoplasma infection, as well as maloaktiven against pathogens gardnerellezom, candidiasis, and syphilis.
How to use:
Vaginal creme
Inserted into the vagina with an applicator, effect immediately, and retains its activity up to 10 hours. In repeated acts re-introduction of the drug is needed. The cream is preferably to use while in horizontal position.
